WYSIWYG Content Editor

All content uses a Word-like WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) editor. This greatly simplifies and accelerates content creation. Content can be easily cut and pasted from Microsoft Word (or other word processing program) and then cleaned in the WYSYWIG editor to deliver W3C compliant HTML.

Content Scheduling

Take control of when content is published and when it expires. This allows you to prepare and schedule content in advance - great if you've got a press release or a product announcement where timing is important. The option to set a time and a date for the expiration of content helps to keep the site current and is a great feature for managing content re special offers, events or latest news items.

Consistence design across the entire site

CSS Stylesheets and XHTML templates provide consistent design across the entire site whilst providing flexiblility for individual designs on special pages. For example high level category pages can be easily given a sdifferent look and feel to content pages. Further, special promotions may require a different design and this can be easily implemented through multiple CSS stylesheets and a single XHMTL template.

Check-in and check-out feature

As Rapidfire CMS allows for mutliple concurrent user access to content editing and authoring there is a danger that two content authors could be working on the same content simultaneously. To avoid this problem a check-in/check-out system is implemented on all content so only one user can have content checked out at any time.

Useability and Architecture Management

  • Automatically generated Breadcrumbs allow users to easily retrace when drilling into hierarchical content.
  • Dynamic navigation control – easily alter navigation structure to resolve usability issues. The navigation system allows the choices of both a static navigation layout and a "flyout" navigation layout (as used in this site). In just two or three clicks you can have a flyout navigation system up and running - no programming needed.
  • One click print button to switch to a print view.

Optional Email notification

Rapidfire CMS allows for optional email notification of all content changes. This allows a high level administrator to monitor all changes to the website.

Image and Attachment Management

Images and attachments are stored in their own separate systems. All image and attachment metadata is stored in the content repository. Images and attachments can be remembered using "Remember Functionality" and then easily inserted into content.

Remember Functionality

Rapidfire CMS uses cookie based "Remember Functionality". This functionality allows you to easily insert images and hyperlinks (to both pages and attachments) into content.
